This method, based on the discovery that any foreign language is learned in the same way as the mother tongue is absorbed, involves necessarily the use of native teachers and of the Italian language right from the very beginning of the course.

The accent is on proactivity rather than on passive receptivity: following the method adopted, AI teachers make use of course books, but employ also other materials and exercises, within a set of teaching techniques (such as role-plays, dramatization, games, Q&A, class discussions, computer projections, film showings) that make language learning easier, more effective and enjoyable.

Our teachers
AI Milan's teachers offer you guidance on how to improve your language skills. Our teachers are all native speakers and hold both a university degree and a Master in the teaching of their mothertongue as a foreign language. They are knowledgeable about their subjects and can answer any questions that you may have.

Study options
Our courses are generally taught in classes of ten and the maximum number of students in any class is 12. Lessons are intensive and task based; typical activities may include role-plays, pair work with a fellow student and class discussions based on texts.

Language class levels
We cater for a range of different levels of language ability. You can take an online test, whose result is a good indicator of your level. When you arrive at AI Milan we will interview you and assess you in a first lesson to ensure that you are studying with students of a similar level. The levels break-down as follows and are linked to the Common European Framework for Languages (CEF).
